— Bowling into the summer of cricket

XXXX Gold are always looking for a way to engage with their demographic: blokes that love a cold beer over a BBQ or whilst fishing. With the Ashes cricket season coming up they saw an opportunity to connect with a wider audience of blokes that love cricket too.

— Purpose

The Goldie App was conceived as a way to drive traffic to pubs and bottle shops through a shared love of the game, and a shared love of prizes for mates to share.

The 'Goldie', a cap with a beacon inside, allowed mates and other punters to get together and, using Geo-location software, allow them to combine forces to collectively win.

— Solution

We created an iOS and Android app that facillitated the initial sign up, the pairing of the beacon to a user's profile, and then the matching of Goldies so users could be in with a chance to win. We drove the user flow and created lovely illustrations and animations to bring the experience to life.

— Results

With a wealth of content to come with tie-ins with Cricket Australia and the Ashes, supporting Gold Bar venues in major Australian cities, and all sorts of prizes, there's lots more to come from the XXXX Goldie app.
