— Investing in their own

The Citibank sales team deal in premium, bespoke investments for wealthy clients yet presented their product portfolio in a low-fi environment, through a disparate collection of emails, fact sheets and print-outs. We were tasked with consolidating all of their products into a single, slick platform.

— Purpose

As well as various investment products, the experience needed to house events, resources (such as articles and videos) and campaigns. The end users would primarily use tablets, although we designed responsively for all use cases. We created a modular design that could work across multiple templates and be repurposed and extended in the future.

As part of the brief, we needed to allow for an ‘internal view’ as well as a ‘client view’, to showcase the same information whilst hiding unconfirmed pricing and legally sensitive content. We therefore created two ‘brands’ to easily identify which view you are in and a secure toggle button to switch between the two views.

— Solution

Working in design sprints, we partnered with the client in workshops and co-design sessions. Leading the experience and design team, myself and my team formulated personas, user journeys, IA, concepts, prototypes and designs, and validated with the development team. We then documented templates and components fully for the tech handover with an overseas development agency. 

— Results

We expanded the original scope of work to deliver a much larger than anticipated product with real value for Citibank. The client was really enthused and positive throughout the process and the results have been very well received across the sales, marketing and other teams there.
